New signing: Infidus

We are excited to announce the signing of the Norwegian band Infidus.

Their debut album Endless Greed will be released worldwide on April 22nd, 2022. It will be available as a Digipak CD, Digital Download, and streaming on all major streaming services. It is produced and mixed by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman, Gothenburg (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, At the Gates, Bring me the Horizon, Dream Evil).

The first digital single will be available on February 16th on all major streaming services and as a digital download on Bandcamp. Preorders for the album will also be available from this day.

Infidus was conceived in a cold and musty basement in Oslo, Norway. The band consisted of four guys – two on guitar/vocals (Øyvind Hetland / Kenneth Andresen), a drummer (Trond Lund), and a bass player (Øyvind Østensen). A few years in, the former vocalist of Aggressive Chill joined the team – (Mikael Willy Wilhelmsson) from Strömstad in Sweden, and made the band complete.

Everyone in Infidus has been playing music most of their lives, exploring different genres with different bands, before finally finding the tone together. Their inspiration comes from bands like Tool, Soundgarden, Metallica, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Periphery, and many more. The result is a bold blend of hard rock and metal.

Be sure to check out the epic story of the Viking hero Beowulf, told by the music by the legendary Clive Nolan, performed by great musicians, four lead singers, and a massive Anglo-Saxon choir.

The 32-pages CD Earbook (2 CDs, DVD, and Blu-ray) and Digipak CDs are shipping now. Unfortunately, there's been an additional slight delay for the LP-editions. Hopefully, those will be shipped by next week.

Postponements

It is with a heavy heart (no pun intended), we have to announce yet again postponements for some of our projects.

All postponements are once again due to production problems at the production facilities related to the Covid19-pandemic.

We are as sick and tired of this virus and the problem it causes as any of you. But the health of the production staff is and will always be the main focus.
That said, we have also taken necessary measures to avoid this ever happening again for upcoming future projects.

The postponements apply to these two projects:

Marius Danielsen's Legend of Valley Doom  - Part 3 - Gatefold Double LP

Unfortunately, the LPs have been delayed. We hoped to have them ready for the release date, but due to both a problem with the test press that set us back a few weeks and the extended production time due to the Covid19-pandemic, it was unfortunately impossible.

At the moment, we don't have an exact date for delivery, but we will update you as soon as we know.

We will compensate the ones affected by this with a code for a digital download of the album. The code will be sent to you on the day of the release.

The CD orders will start shipping by the end of this week.

Clive Nolan - Song of the Wildlands

We are sorry to announce that the whole release will be postponed. This is due to extended production times for both the CD Earbook and the two editions of the Gatefold Double LP.

In co-operation with We Låve Rock Music and Clive Nolan, we have decided on a new release date set for September 1st.

The reason for such a lengthy postponement is mainly to avoid a release date during the summer break and maybe yet another unforeseen delay.

The good news is that we will also produce a Digipak CD version of the album due to many requests by you. This will be added to preorder very soon.

We are genuinely sorry for all the inconvenience this causes.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support of all our artists. We appreciate it.

All the best,

Crime Records

Upon its original release, The Order of Things caused quite a stir in the Icelandic rock and metal scene. Confusing for some but rewarding for those accepting challenges, the album received heaps of praise from reviewers both locally and internationally. In attempting to pin down the album's sound, reviewers mentioned acts as diverse as Tool, Faith No More, Opeth, Pain of Salvation, Sonic Youth, and Frank Zappa, all the while applauding Ask the Slave for developing their own unique way of approaching heavy rock music.

Dubbed by their local media as "brain-stimulating musical perverts", the original problem child of Icelandic rock, Ask the Slave, has been raising eyebrows since 2004, making music true to their credo of "wtf?!" Now, teamed up with esteemed Norwegian independent label Crime Records, and in collaboration with We Låve Rock Music, the band is ready to launch their third full-length album. The album in question, Good Things Bad People, is their first release in 11 years and their first to be distributed internationally.

Those already familiar with the group's back catalog will know better than expect a conventional rock record. In true Ask the Slave fashion, the album comprises a wide range of sounds and moods. Although presented in a coherent flow, the album manages to be at the same time heavy and dark, soft and beautiful, serious and angry, and silly. Brace yourselves for heavy riffs, grand choruses, clever guitar-interplay, haunting melodies, catchy pop hooks, twists-and-turns, odd time signatures, far-out character-play, and a healthy dose of internal band humor.

This album is released in co-operation with We Låve Rock Music.

Tracklist:

Track: Duration:
1.   Catch 22   2:42
2.   Wounded Knee   6:26

An animist perceives all things - animals, plants, rocks, rivers, oceans, and mountains - as animated, and it all comes to life in Octohawk’s debut album.
With Animist, the Norwegian 5-piece denotes not a single creed or doctrine but a diverse otherworldly landscape of progressive, melodic, and abrasive music. Filled with thundering beats, heavy riffs, ripping vocals, and entrancing soundscapes, Animist represents the shapeless nature of real chaos.
The album, comprised of 10 crushing tracks, is an eventful experience. Rich in content and surprises, this album will delight all fans of sludgy, proggy, and groovy heavy metal.
Detached from all boundaries, Animist soars through many metal genres - seamlessly from powerful to ethereal and back with dual momentum.
With their debut album Animist, Octohawk lays down a solid foundation for their musical universe.
